Browsers

I know that eKYROS.com can only be accessed through Explorer. Is there any way to change browsers? There are browsers that are a lot faster and more efficient than E and may be more beneficial to multiple office users with different browser settings.
Thank you!

Hi HopeRC,

eKYROS.com. You can use any browser to view content on ekyros.com (www.ekyros.com).

CenterPiece. You are correct in that we require Internet Explorer (IE) to access the CenterPiece PRC application. In CenterPiece we include some javascript code (that runs on the client in the browser) to make some of the pages more user-friendly. Since javascript has not fulfilled it's potential of "write once, run everywhere" (in this case in any browser) we would have to test each web page in CenterPiece against all the browsers on the market. This could potentially increase our testintg 5 fold, which means you would get less frequent updates/enhancements of the software and it could potentially increase the cost of CenterPiece due to the additional testing required. So we chose early on to exclusively support Internet Explorer because 1) It has 90% market share and most everybody uses it 2) It's free 3) It's pre-installed on every windows machine and 4) It is arguably just as fast as any browser on the market today. And finally, we just don't have the resources to test against all browsers.

I hope that helps you understand our decision to target IE. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Thanks!

Could we protect test for you on other browsers?

Hi Rico

Thanks for the offer. But due to confidentiality and privacy issues, we cannot allow 3rd parties to test the code. That said, we are investigating supporting other browsers..(even on the mac). But we are probably about a year off before we can do so. Thanks again for your suggestion!
