Want to print WALK donation statements with more info than I see possible! Posted: 28 Mar 2019 10:15 AM |
Hi! I read a post on this from 2007. I'm hoping things have changed since then.
When our WALK donors make payments we don't assign them a pledge if it's an up front payment. I love the way the pledge statement is set up, but it would be a lot of extra work to create 2100 pledges for the 2100 donations that were made to us up front. So that's how we process it.
I would like to send them a donation statement that includes the date paid, amount paid, method of payment, and WALKer's name sponsored.
I can get that info from batch receipts but it doesn't include the WALKer's name.
I can get some of that info from Sponsor reports but it doesn't include any info other than Amount Paid and WALKer name.
Am I correct in this? Is there a way to merge the two files? I don't think so because I don't see how we would match up people who donated in support of more than one WALKer (and we have many of them) transactions with the sponsor report.
Any ideas? |

Hi jvanture,
Do you happen to be bringing your WALK Event giving into CenterPiece through our online giving connector from MinistrySync? The reason I ask is you can map receipt comments when you download each batch and we pull the "walkers name" into the comments line for each donation. Therefore, each Donation receipt would include the donation amount, payment type, Event name, and the name of the walker that was being sponsored.
This works especially well if Donors are sponsoring multiple walkers-each line on the donation receipt would specify the amount and the name of the sponsored walker.
You do have the ability to add this information to the comment line if you aren't using the online giving connector or MinistrySync for your event. All other details you listed are included in a standard Donation Receipt.

It was a huge success! $234,000.00+!!!
Unfortunately we have already processed all the payments without the comment field in mind. About half of our entries come through paper pledge forms. I am trying to figure out how to do this without going back into paper pledge form donations and changing each of them. I was just hopeful there would be an easier workaround!

Hi JVanture!!!
Thank you for reaching out to us. Another possible option would be to run the Donations Report, for your specific event, and then view as a letter. This would allow you to create your own statement or letter and insert the mail merge field of "Group Name" and "Group Captain" if you have created groups within the event. Does that make sense?
Again, you would have to create your own statement or just setup as a letter.
