We are seeing an increase of clients who are bi-sexual or gay. Just wondering if e-Kyros is planning to address this in the case form or other statistical area. We live in a military town and often get asked to have a pregnancy test performed so they can have proof non-pregnancy. Then, during the consult, it is learned they aren't even having "straight" sex because of lesbianism. While entering these types of cases it was tricky regarding intentions, etc. Recently I put "n/a" however that makes the stats look questionable.

We've also had lesbian couples who have had donors or friends who impregnanted them. Therefore the "father" category is tricky.

I'm sure we aren't the only ones dealing with these issues. It seems e-Kyros should update the forms to track these types of cases.

Hi Delaine,
It's great to hear from you, thank you for reaching out! I have had this brought up by 1 other center. My suggestion would be to track the information as you would any other client. Intentions/Assessment regarding the pregnancy or potential pregnancy. If there is no father information or they are not willing to divulge I would mark as "no" for 22-24 and "Other" for relationship with father. You could also specify, in Keywords, "bi-sexual, homosexual, etc." so you can differentiate or see that on the file.

Another suggestion would be to reach out to any affiliate(s) such as CareNet and/or Heartbeat for their feedback and how they suggest tracking.

Thank you for your questions, have a GREAT day!

Blessings,
Ashleigh
