patient documentation

Do other centers using Ekyros just have the EMR or do they print out what's been documented & put in a paper chart? Do you print out ultrasound images with a paper report form or just have the electronic version?
Thanks.

Hi Nursenelson,

More and more medical clinics within the ministry have either 'gone paperless', are 'going paperless', or are 'on the move to start the process' of going paperless. Thus, many of the medical clinics that I talk to frequently within my territory no longer keep paper charts. Additional forms, such as signed around consent for services or HIPAA disclosures, etc. get uploaded into the Clients documents tab. The scans and ultrasounds forms are not printed out, simply retained in the patient file within the scans tab, etc. They would only typically print the 'limited ultrasound report' off if forwarding it on to an OBGYN or a hospital. Again, this is not the case 100% as many do still keep paper charts in addition. However, this is increasingly becoming the norm.

Obviously the information is easier to produce when called upon, takes up less storage space, is less likely to be breached due to 'theft', etc., won't deteriorate, can't be burned in a fire, etc. Additionally, it is good to have a complete securely stored medical record.

Hope this helps! Have a beautiful rest of your day!
