Can you add "Familial factors related to maternal health" to the list of indications for US.
Thanks-

Hi Anna,
It's great to hear from you! I can add your request to our feature feedback list to be considered for a future update. We have found the majority of centers use the sonogram on a limited basis (to confirm intrauterine pregnancy) and not to diagnosis or identify potential factors. Does your center provide sonograms other than limited? This will help me in better understanding your request as well as how many other centers may utilize this option.

I appreciate the clarification, I hope you have a Merry Christmas.

Blessings,
AshleighCool

Hi Anna-
Thank you so much for posting your suggestion. I will add this as a feature request for consideration made by your center. My understanding is that the indication of 'Familial factors related to maternal health' is NIFLA terminology; and when we consulted before adding indications on our form we had nurses suggest that we only provide the recognized accepted clinical indications (such as those listed by the AIUM) for a limited ultrasound-to both promote best practices, and also so that when the report is forwarded on to an OB there would not be confusion, etc. We thought this would be a less used indication (mostly for additional scans) and could be noted in the nurse note section. However, I will submit it again for consideration and based on center feedback, it will continue to be considered. Again, thanks so much for the suggestion...this is how we make our product better for everyone!

Blessings on a wonderful Christmas!
Kristen

If a client comes in for the first US the indication is always to determine IUP, Viability and EGA. If she is abortion minded or undecided or people in her family/sig other are encouraging her to choose abortion, she can come back for another US and the indication is Familial factors related to maternal health.

When would we use the indication Evaluate Interval Growth?

The AIUM notes that "A limited examination may also be performed to evaluate interval growth" within the first trimester (in addition to IUP, confirm fetal heart activity,). My understanding is that they are stating that an additional scan (limited exam) can be performed for this reason. Thus, apparently allowing one to evaluate interval growth between scans is my interpretation.
Thanks,
Kristen
