October update- physician sign off
Posted: 16 Oct 2014 02:48 PM
I watched the info for the newest release and noted that only the person designated as the Medical Director can sign off on an ultrasound report. That won't work for us as our medical director does not read our scans, another OB physician consultant does so how will you address that? Are there other appropriate designated titles that can be assigned in administration?

Hi nurseneslon,

You will need to setup a userID for the other OB physician and allow them to login. You would only need to assign the Medical Director role to their account. This will allow that individual to remotely login, review and sign the forms. That's about it. Hope that helps!

NurseNelson,
Thank you for reaching out to us, "Medical Director" is the name of the role, not necessarily their title, so as Brian mentioned you would assign "Medical Director" role to the user id of the person who reads your scan.

Does that make sense?

Blessings,
Ashleigh

I understand the role thing, but how is that affected when viewing the medical record? Does it give the impression that the person interpreting the scan is the medical director? Can other medical staff roles not be assigned, such as consultant, etc.?

Thanks

Hi nursenelson,

When viewing the limited ultrasound report or the client record, it indicates the signature based on the name of the person associated to the user account with the medical director role. So if I am the user that is signing off on documents, it shows Amy Carr electronically signed the sonogram, along with the specific date and time stamp. I hope this helps. I'd definitely recommend reviewing the documentation under the Help tab and watching through the video(s) to see what the process looks like and please let us know if you have any other questions.

Kind Regards,

Amy

Only Administrators can assign a user to the Medical Director role. So you should be able to handle this procedurally. If you don't want to allow a user to sign scans (regardless of their title), don't assign the medical director role to their user account. Hope that helps.
