Relationships Needed Posted: 09 Feb 2014 06:56 AM |
Hello,
I don't see where I can add fields to the "Relationships" list. Could you please add:
- Child (we count an unborn child as a "person" and a client even when we don't know its gender)
- Grandmother
- Grandfather
We find that grandparents often come in with their granddaughter.
Finally, in the dialogue box where I choose a new relationship, it does not specify who is related to whom.
So, in the "Add New" relationship dialogue box, when I select a person related, I then need to choose a "category" of how this person is related. But it is not clear if I am choosing the category based on how the person in the open file is related to this new person selected, or if I'm being asked how the new person selected is related to the open file. A simple text explanation would help, such as, "How is the person in the open file related to this person you have selected?" After working with it a bit, I think that's what it's asking, but it would be helpful for training my new volunteers if this was clarified.
Thanks for your help.

Hi Bill,
Thank you for your feedback in this area. I can add a feature request to your file that the relationship list be made an editable field (as, like you said, currently it isn't editable) in a future release. This would allow you to add options as you see fit.
In many cases, centers will put the relationship in both files. For example, if Jane Doe comes in with her mother, Mary, in Mary's file Jane will be linked as Daughter, and in Jane's file Mary will be linked as Mother.
Thanks again,
Amy |
