TB testing

| Are other centers requiring staff that have patient contact to have annual TB testing- yes or no? Are other centers providing that testing themselves? Or are other centers asking staff to get their own testing done with a provider? |

Hi nursenelson,
I am interested to see what people from other centers have to say. I know we did annual TB testing at the center, provided by the center when I was on staff at mine.

Hi Nurse Nelson,
We too, at my center, had annual TB tests done. Our center didn't do the test but paid for the staff to have them completed.

| The hospital that I also work for, with the blessing of the state of Indiana, is not doing annual TB testing. We are screening employees annually around flu season/shot time. If they are symptomatic or high risk they will be testing. Now having said that, we are considering that at our center because TB is expensive. |

Our center tested for all staff members, but that's been a while back. Things may have changed since then.
