Firefox does not close after logoff Posted: 04 Feb 2013 09:39 AM |
The browser does not close like IE, but gives the option to login again. I can also switch to another website or function. |

Hi Keith,
What version of Firefox and OS are you using?
Thanks,

That is correct. FireFox does not allow you to close the browser programmatically. They consider that a security feature. So unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about that. |

Sorry, should have known better -
Firefox is 18.0.1
IE is 8
Windows is XP sp3
I will try the same operation using Safari on a MAC and Firefox on Windows 7 and maybe Chrome later. I will report separate bugs on those systems.
And remember, I reported a problem much earlier that IE does not close after logoff when you have multiple tabs open. It does give the warning.

Thinking about this issue; if Firefox does not support the program close, to make it accurate, the message should not be issued when one logs off. Sorry to nit pick, but that is the proper way to handle it.
Someone else is going to report the same thing - now or later. |
