sending letter to a specified few donors

I want to send a letter to a few donors. I can create the letter, but I can't figure out how to specify which donors the letter goes to. They aren't categorized in any way in eKyros at this point. THere is no receipt to attach - just want to send the letter.

Thank you for contacting us, it's great to hear from you! What is the criteria for those you want to receive this letter so I can try pinpointing a possible way to filter them out of your database?

The list is quite random. I don't think much pinpointing can be done! I'm still learning what eKyros can do. Its great, but unfortunately, I don't think it can read minds. Thank you, though. |

Hi Denise,
Hope you are having a good morning. Thank you for your response. One way you can identify a group of donors and pull them together in reporting to create a list, create a letter, or run labels is to create a Category on their General Tab. You will find this Category at the bottom of the General Tab. Click Edit List, Add New Item, Type in the Category Description, then click the word Insert on the left of the row. Then apply the category to your donor files (open the donor file, go to the bottom and select the drop down arrow on Categories) by putting a check mark in the Category that applies to them, then click Apply.
In Donor Files Report you will be able to use the Category as a filter to pull this group of donors into a list, or create a letter with this list of donors as the recipient, or create labels. This task will require you to make a onetime application of the Category to the Donor File, General Tab for all the Donors you wish to send the letter to. I hope this is helpful. | OK, Christi that sounds good but I have a couple questions. Is the Category permanent or can it be deleted later? If it cannot be deleted, can donors be removed from this category when I'm finished with this particular mailing? |
