Brian,
You wrote:

Run the report 2002 or 2001 and you will see a lot of outcomes of
"unknown"."
so, pregancy outcomes are tracked by the "Date Of Outcome" not the Date
you set the outcome.
let me know if you have any more questions.
thanks,
Brian

The "Pregnancy Outcomes" I was referring to were for due dates AFTER January 2003. I entered several and they do NOT come up in the report for 2003. Any ideas about this? |

i just checked your database which the "Productivity Report" pulls from. there is only 1 client that has a "date of outcome" in 2003 with an outcome id of "unknown". There are 29 clients with an outcome set in 2003. so it appears that the report is correct. if you're interested, i can save the query and send you the list of clients for '03.

Thanks for looking into it. I guess the main question I still have is what actual date does the report put the outcomes under?? I assumed it was the "date of outcome" and if that is so I am positive that there should be more unknown's for 2003. My question originated when I was preparing the productivity report for April and saw that only 1 unknown for all of 2003 was showing up. As you probably already know, there are normally more "unknowns" than any other outcomes, and I know that I have entered several unknown outcome's for dates between Jan 2003 and now. Therefore, I have reason to believe that there is something not working right with the productivity report that we have both been looking at. |

Brian,
I think I have figured out why I am so confused. Please correct me if I'm wrong. If the outcome is set as unknown, then the outcome is logged under the original date of the pregnancy test?? I originally thought that it would be logged as the date the outcome was entered, and that's why I have been so confused. Let me know if this clears things up.
Thanks!! |

Hi Sarah,
i just checked the code and here is how the "Date of Outcome" is computed:
If a Birth:
Date of Outcome is set to the birth date.
if UnKnown:
Date of Outcome is set to the First Day of Last Period (from the Pregnancy test form).
all Others: (Abortion, Miscarriage, Stillborn)
Date of Outcome is set to the First Day of Last Period + Weeks Pregnant at Outcome.

fyi...
A helpful way to check your data is to run the Pregnancy Outcome Analysis report for outcome of "Unknown". The analysis report allows you to "drill down" and view the clients which make up the results. so you can see all the clients with outcomes of unknown.
