Professions of Faith
Posted: 10 Nov 2010 07:38 AM
Hello, everyone. We continue to keep recording the date on each new case form for previous "Profession of Faith" information. It counts again as a profession in the stats. Is there any way to keep track of the previous professions but eliminate the duplication?

God bless you all,
Karole

Karole,
When opening a new case it does carry over information from the previous case that you are able to edit/update at that point. My understanding, from your statement, is that you'd prefer if when you clicked "Add new case" it came up completely blank, is this correct?

Blessings,
Ashleigh

Hi, Ashleigh. No. I'm sorry I'm having such a hard time explaining this. When I run the stats by Profession of Faith dates, the client shows up multiple times depending on how many cases she has. She really only made one profession, so it should only count one time.

God bless you,
Karole

Karole,
The system is reporting correctly, this seems to be a data entry error. When creating subsequent cases you will not mark "profession of faith" from a previous case but "Already a believer" For example Sally Smith comes in CASE 001 November of 2009 for a pregnancy test and has a profession of faith but reads her test negative, she returns CASE 002 May of 2010 for another pregnacny test is already a believer (due to previous profession of faith, she did not make ANOTHER profession of faith). The system is reporting what you are entering into it, so it would count the client as a profession of faith for 2009 and already a believer for 2010. Same if you were to enter her for January 2010 and then again in May 2010 as profession of faith, it would count her 2x. Does this make sense?

Blessings
Ashleigh

Don't you just hate those data entry errors? :)

So, then, yes, per your initial reply, it might be better to have spiritual status blank for new cases.

Am I understanding this correctly now? The "Date Accepted Jesus" is determined by the date of the case and not the date of the client's profession? If that's right, then what happens when a client comes to the Center in January, makes a profession of faith during a visit in July, and her spiritual status is updated to show that?

Perpetually confused,
Karole

Karole,
You are amazing! I love how detailed you look into data entry and how you are always wanting to learn more. You can currently pull the "Spiritual Status" of a case, via Client Case Statistics, by the date of case OR date accepted Jesus. by changing the time option (clicking on the downward pointing arrow to see your drop down options).

Blessings,
Ashleigh
