Blank Pages Posted: 15 Jun 2010 02:15 PM |
Hi, I have a question. When I print any large mailing that I have exported to MS Word, every other page is a blank page. Is there something I can do to avoid this? For example I exported the Walk for Life pledge statements to MS word and there were about 250 statements to print. I ended up printing 500 pages and every other page was blank. Our center is charged per copy. We can't afford to pay for blank pages. Also it is way too time consuming to go through all 250 in Word and delete the blank pages. It has also done this when we print our quarterly statements. There must be a default to leave a page blank when you export it to MS word. Is there anyway to change this
Thanks,
Leah |

Hi Leah,
If your document is carrying over to a 2nd page it is because you have too much text included on the first page. Try making the size of your font (text that you have added) smaller, or cut the amount of text. IF you have not added any text it may be due to the donor giving frequently and pulling a large date range, including each gift they have given listed out. Again it goes back to there being too much text on the first page that it carrys over to a 2nd page

Hi Ashleigh,
I thought it was too much text too so I just printed the Batch Receipts and didn't add any wording and it still has a blank page between every page. It doesn't matter if the donor has a lot of donations listed or only one donation. It still leaves me with a blank page.
Thanks,

Hi Leah,
What is the version of microsoft office you are using? What are the steps you are following to print your receipts? Thank you for the additional details.
Blessings,

I am using MS Office 2003 and I export the document to Word, then I print them. I don't make any changes once it has been exported to Word
Thanks

Hi,
I didn't hear back from you but I did change the top and bottom margins to .20 instead of .25 and that seemed to work on my current mailing. Let me know if you find out anything else.

Hi Leah,
I apologize in the delay of getting back to you. I am unsure why this would be happening upon export. continue to change your margins or feel free to contact your account manager so we could try walking through and finding a solution with you. Have a great day.
Blessings,
Ashleigh |

Hi Leah
I was having the same problem and what I discovered when you export to Word you can go into Edit and Select All then to File and Page Set Up and change your bottom margin to .17" it will take care of having that extra page. Do a Print Preview just to make sure! LMK how it works for you!!
