using notepad
Posted: 18 Apr 2005 03:40 PM
When entering clients from my laptop and I try to chose from the drop-down menu in "Concepts Shared" the entire menu does not show. I am unable to enlarge the menu or scroll down to hit "Apply". Can someone check on this and see if it is only my notepad or if all people working on a notepad have the same problem?

Hi Karen, what is the screen resolution you are running on your laptop? CenterPiece requires 1024x768 or greater. if you are running 640x480 this could be the problem.

I tried changing the resolution but that did not change the drop-down menus. Have you looked at it on a laptop to see what I am experiencing? We are trying to have multiple users in the office and it won't work this way because I can't complete the client intake from my laptop. Any other suggestions?

Yes, running CenterPiece from a laptop has been tested and is supported. It appears there is some setting in windows on your laptop that is causing this problem. It usually is associated to a display resolution setting. What resolution is you laptop set at?

I have tried using 1024X768 (and higher and lower resolutions) and the "apply" button is still not visible. I thought perhaps it is because our list of choices is long, but it does not show up on the VIDEO selection and we only have a few choices there. Any other suggestions?

Hi Karen,

Can you please send me a print screen of the list where you cannot see the "apply" button? This may help me determine what your problem is. You can send it to brianp@ekyros.com.

thanks!

I can't print screen or copy because when I click the mouse the "concepts shared" drop-down menu disappears. I also can't post me picture which is at 80 pixels width, on my profile. I have come to the conclusion that it is a problem with my notepad since my son's works fine. I will have my tech look at it. (I always have my resolution at 1680x1050 and it appears to be the same size as my son's which runs at 1024x768. Our monitors are only one inch different in size.) Thanks for your help.
Karen

hmmm...you should be able to do a print screen, i just tested it on my laptop and it works fine. try completing the following steps:

1. On the concepts shared form, click the down arrow next to question 3. Concepts Shared
2. the Concepts Shared list box is displayed.
3. hold down the alt key (don't use the mouse, press the key), and press "prnt scrn" on your laptop. Note: I have a dell laptop, if you use a different brand, the "prnt scrn" button on your keyboard may be called something different.
4. Open Paint (under Start/Accessories)
5. In Paint, select the Edit menu and click Paste.
6. In Paint, save the bmp file to disk.
7. Open your email program and send me the bmp file by adding an attatchment to your email and selecting the .bmp.

again, my email is brianp@ekyros.com.

If you still have problems, feel free to send me a contact number in email where i can call you. thanks!

Copied with print screen and emailed to you twice, two weeks ago. One came back to me. Did you get the other one?

I have been informed by my IT man that most likely my problem is a javascript issue. The javascript is not compensating my monitor type. I have a Dell Inspiron 8500 with a very wide display. I have tried setting the resolution to 800X600 thru to 1024X768 and nothing seems to make a difference. Symptoms are the same. I will print screen again and try to email it to you. If I do not hear from you I can fax it if I can get your fax number.

One more thing, what version of Internet Explorer are you using?

Please try sending the print screen to brianp@msn.com. If the file is too large, the ekyros email may not go through.

Thanks for the update Karen. I'm just curious, did you change anything on your machine to get it to work? We have not made any changes regarding your issue in CenterPiece. Any information you can provide would be much appreciated in case this problem ever occurs with other customers. Thanks!
