Materials donations

On the donation form there isn't a place for materials donations. Currently we are using a hand written system, but would like to be able to track materials donations on Ekyros along with monetary donations. How would I do this? Materials are not Gift-in-Kind and and there isn't a materials field on the "donation type" field. Can you help me?

Hi Patty602,

The "Gift-in-Kind" option (found in the "Payment Type" list) IS meant specifically for tracking material donations. You can also use the "comment" field to track what the material was. Whatever is typed into the "comment" box WILL show up on the receipt, so the donor will see it.

I hope that helps clarify, but please let me know if you have more questions.

In Him,

Sarah

I have a question. Unless I am mistaken the problem with the "Gift-in-Kind" is that it shows up as income. For example if they donate a $30 gift-card. Under the amount would be $30 anddesignated as a gift-in-kind. Then the $30 shows up as income when there really is none.

Thanks for you time!

Jennifer

EOJen-

I am unsure what you are referring to when you state that it tracks "income." CenterPiece is not an accounting software that tracks profit/loss information. We do provide a QuickBooks connector that enables you to utilize that accounting software, however you do have the ability to map your designations, or tell it where to go. In the example you provided your donor would still receive a receipt for the "goods" provided to your center for the monetary value decided upon, therefore the "Gift-in-Kind" is perfect for this.

Blessings,
Ashleigh

I am having a problem with using the "in kind" for material donations. It appears that there is no way to remove the zero value from the statement?

Sueoc-
Can you be more specific? What are you trying to accomplish? If it is a gift-in-kind or material donation there is still a tax-deductible amoutn attached, correct? Also there HAS to be a numeric value in the amount received and tax-deductible fields whether it is 0 or greater. This is not changeable. I look forward to hearing from you further. I hope you had a GREAT Christmas.

Blessings,
Ashleigh
