Minds Changed Posted: 28 Oct 2009 09:37 AM |
I have two questions about statistics. I need to find the number of girls that came in abortion minded or abortion vulnerable and chose life.
1. Can you tell me the best way to pull this statistic?
2. If I run a report to find the number that "Changed Abortion View" is it basing this statistic off of the counselors assessment or off of what the client states her intentions are?
I am concerned that I may not be getting an accurate statistic for the number of women who change their minds because the counselor would assess any girl that originally came in abortion minded as "abortion vulnerable" after support even if she states that she has chosen life- because she is still vulnerable. This means if the statistic we pull is based on the counselors assessment we would never have a "mind changed".
Thank you! |

Hi Bridgetk-
The "Changed Abortion View" is pulled from the client stated intentions creating a comparison between stage 1 (initial assessment) and the current stage the client is at. For example client comes in stating she is undecided, receives a pregnancy test that is positive she is still undecided, comes in for a sonogram and after meeting her baby she now states she intends to carry. This scenario would reflect a "Changed Abortion View." If client comes in stating she intends to carry and that doesn't change throughout the stages, then there is no changed abortion view.
The reason this has changed to tracking the clients stated intentions, opposed to the staff/volunteers assessment, is because we want to be able to truly reflect the numbers and information accurately for your center. Basing information based upon the clients stated intentions moves away from creating an "overstatement" of changed abortion views.
If you have any further questions or require further clarification, don't hesitate in contacting us. Have a GREAT day!
Blessings,
Ashleigh |

Bridgetk-
1. Go to Client Management
2. Along the left hand side click on Statistics
3. Click on "Client Case Statistics"
4. Select column 2 measure- AtRiskAssessment_Initial
5. Select column 3 measure- AtRisk Assessment_Current
6. Those who were initially abortion minded or vulnerable but were changed to likely to carry will be the number you are looking for.
If I can be of further assistance don't hesitate in contacting me.
Blessings,

Hi, Ashleigh. I've been working on this, too. I have followed your instructions, but so far, the "Changed Minds" that I've looked at that show they changed their minds from Abortion Vulnerable to Intends to Carry have both shown that the original STATED intentions of the clients were Intends to Carry.
Am I doing something wrong?

Karole-
The "Changed Abortion View" measure is a comparison from Stage 1 (Initial) Stated Intentions to whatever the current stage is, whether that be 2 (after support/preg. test), 3 (after sono), or 4 (at last contact). If your client stated at stage 1 she was "Undecided" she came for a test and was still "Undecided" at Stage 2 and later came for a sono and was "Intends to Carry" at Stage 3 she would be reflected. If a different client came in and at Stage 1 stated she intended to "Abort" but at Stage 2 was "Intends to Carry" she would be reflected as well.
It is whenever a change from Abort/Undecided to Intends to Carry occurs via stated intentions. Please contact your account manager if you need further assistance so we can login and assist you easily. Have a GREAT day!
Blessings,

Hi, Ashleigh. Yes, I understand that. My point was the Initial Stated Intentions appear to be the Initial Assessment by the Counselor instead.
I have left a message for Margie, but she hasn't returned my call.
God bless your day.

Happy New Year, Ashleigh. Margie did help me, thanks.
The problem was using the Client Case Statistics to determine the clients who had changed their minds. The only measurement option there for the Initial stage is for the ASSESSMENT by the counselor.
To find the "Changed Abortion View" based on the client's STATED initial intentionsis we have to use the Pregnancy Test Statistics which has "Changed Abortion View" in the measurement drop down.
Take care. God bless you.
