At Risk Assessment

The new choices for client's intentions are unknown, abortion, intends to carry and undecided. Is there a way to know if the client is planning on parenting or placing for adoption? Is that in another section now?

Hi ltatum,

You can record the parenting intentions on question 14 of the pregnancy test. Question 14 states:

"14. If you plan to carry to term, what are your intentions? (Adopt, Parent, Undecided, Unknown)"

This question has always been on the pregnancy test form. We found that including the intentions as part of the Likely to Carry assessment - e.g. Likely to Carry (Parent) was redundant and confusing.

Please note, we plan to update the pregnancy test stats so you can break out totals by q14. this should happen within the next few weeks.

hope that helps!

Thanks Brian. I see that which will tell us what the client's initial intentions are. What if she changes her mind and chooses adoption after guidance?

Great question. Currently the system lets you track the "initial" parenting intentions on the pregnancy test form. this will allow you to find clients considering adoption. Then, you can track the 'actual" parenting decision on the case outcome form. See the "Birth Parenting Decision" question. For now, if the client changes her mind between the time of the pregnancy test and the actual outcome, you will need to change the value on the existing pregnancy test form. Is that acceptable?
