Client numbers

Do other centers use client ID#'s? We assign our clients a number when they come in, for example: a client that came in as our first client of January 2005 would be assigned the ID # 05001. 05 represents the yr and 001 represents number of client for that year. The next client would be assigned 05002, 05003, etc... I noticed that ekyros assigns a number but staff and volunteers are included. Is this change a problem for others or not. I know change is hard but some of our staff are having a hard time with the idea of no client ID. Do you then go by birthdate or SS#? We are not sure how to handle this or is it a big deal at all?
Thanks,
Georgia

Hi Georgia,

I wanted to let you know that we will be adding a field called "key words" on the Contact Information (General) form. You can use this field to enter your client numbers. We will also make it possible for you to search for clients using this field.

Thanks!
