Inactive Donor Files

If I check a file inactive, will the name still appear in a mailing or is it removed from the mailing list? Do I still have to mark "hold mail" if I check "inactive?"
How can I retrieve inactive files? |

Patricia,
Thanks for the great question. The Status being set as "Active" or "Inactive" simply flags the account so you can select this group of people from the report options screen. Hold mail works the same way.
Here is an example:
I want to print a letter and mailing labels for all of my active donors. I would run the Donor Files report, then under the report options screen I will select Status > "Active". This will filter out all of the inactive files and won't genetrate letters and labels.
