No Receipt Donations Posted: 25 Jun 2008 01:21 PM |
If a person gives through United Way or a Foundation, then they are receipted by that organization. If we enter the amount in their Donor Account in only the Donation "Amount" field entry and leave the "Receipt Amount" blank, will the system know not to add this to the receipted amount when receipts are printed. |

Garth,
You are correct that you should leave the "Receipt" field blank (it will have a $0 in it). But, also uncheck the “Print Receipt” box at the bottom of the page to prevent any receipt being generated at all.
Then when printing your Batch Receipts, make sure to use the "To Be Printed" filter and set it to "yes". This will ONLY run those donors that DO need receipts.
Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any more questions.
Bless you,

Hi Garth,
Just wanted to add a bit to what Tommy said in his post....
Before you set the receipt amount to $0, you might want to consider whether or not you will ever want this dollar amount to show up on a receipt. For example, you might not want to send a receipt for his donation immediately, however, you may want this $$ amount to show up when you send out year-end receipts. You may still want this amount to show as $0 even on a year-end receipt, but I just wanted to bring this up so you can think this through ahead of time.
Even if you fill in the "Receipt Amount" field with the total of his donation, you can still control who does and who does not receive a receipt by using the "To Be Printed" checkbox that Tommy described.
Hope this helps, Garth!
In Him,
Sarah |
