Question about inconclusive U/S?

Hi I have found we have had a run of inconclusive U/S mostly because of too early U/S and mistakes in LMP but we have had a group of Miscarriages and other things like three clients that took the morning after pill that were still pregnant but earlier than expected. I was wondering if there was a way of further defining our inconclusives between miscarriages and too early needing a rescan.

Hi, mac4jc,
That is a great idea. If I understand you correctly, you are wanting to track more information when you choose "Inconclusive" on the Sonogram Form. Is incorrect LMP the main and/or only situation when this comes up?
Can you give me an idea of what specifically you would like to track and how you envision the reporting to look?

I am thinking that it would be nice to have a sub cat. of reasons for inconclusives. So you can see statistically what is happening. Otherwise you have to look into each file to see why it is inconclusive and if they are just too early it is not recorded as a rescan anywhere. So you have inconclusives that were made conclusive 2 wks later but statistically you don't know that.
Inconclusive Scan
LMP not accurate GS<6wks. Rescan. ( This would be for those who do
not remember their LMP date)
Possible Miscarriage - No FHR. No rescan.
Possible Miscarriage - Fetal size not appropriate to LMP. Rescan F/U. (This would be for those who knows their LMP but have a delay in growth or regression due to impeding demise.)
Possible Miscarriage - No fetal pole. No rescan. (Possible ectopic)
Rescan Conclusive
I believe this would help us track these better and follow up better. Our statement of viability is Appropriate gestation size according to LMP, FHR, and Inter Uterine Pregnancy IUP. We have had a number of odd cases. How would you account statistically for ectopic pregnancies or Miscarriages?

I understand the data entry point you are suggesting and the reports that you would like. The outcome would be so you can analyze this data associated with Inconclusive Sonograms at a more detailed level.
I'll have development look into the possibility and see what we can do in a future release.
