Father of Baby involved? Posted: 28 Apr 2008 01:30 PM |
Hello,
I am trying to do a report that has the number fathers who plan to support the client during her pregnancy. It is the question on the pregnancy test for that ask "If this test is positive will he be involved?" Is there a way to pull this in a report form or statistic form?
Thanks for all your help. |

Hi Lonna,
Currently, we do not have a statistic that is pulled directly from this question on the Pregnancy Test Form. I am so sorry for this inconvenience. We can take a look at the possibility of adding this stat in a future enhancement, though. This info is definitely already tracked through the question you mentioned in your post (on the P.T. form), so we would just need to do some work on our end so you can have a stat on this data. We'll look into this possibility.
Thanks Lonna! Great feedback. Hope you have a great night.

Along the same lines, we are trying to track fathers who attend parenting classes because we have had a few ask for something signed to turn into Child Protective Services to show that they have attended classes. We know that we can create a file for the father and attach him to the client through the Relationships tab but then we have to create a Case on him to add him to the Class Roster. Is this the only way? We have a note the instructor signs to say that he has attended the classes but we would like to be able to track it electronically as well so we can look it up if they come in at a later date. Does that make sense? Also, if we have to create a case for him, how would we complete the requested information?
Thanks for your help!

Hi Christi,
You are right...in order to enroll a client (whether male or female) you will have to create a Case for them. It is perfectly acceptable to create a new case for a male client. In fact, this is something that Care Net specifcally tracks in their national annual report. Of course, some of the information will be "not applicable" because of the gender (like anything pregnancy related). You can just mark the "Case Pregnancy Status" as "N/A."
You'll also want to make sure that the correct gender is marked on the "General" tab of the client file.
In your statistics, you will be able to run the "Class Attendance Statistic" and use the measure of "gender" to track stats on both your female and male clients. You can actually use the "gender" measure with all of our stats, so you'll always be able to separate these numbers out if you wish to.
Hope this helps! Let us know if you need more help with this.
Happy Friday!
