Counsel and Other Classes/Services Posted: 19 Feb 2008 07:30 PM |
Please, please consider giving us the ability to breakdown the "Counseling Service" and "Other Services or Classes" by category as reported on the Focus Report, #6, Primary Purpose, like you did for Referrals to Outside Agencies and STD Screening. It would be so very helpful to be able to add our own categories for these areas, while still giving Focus one total drawn from these areas.
Also, it would be fantastic to be able to print a Class List with the names of the people who attended the class. Any hopes of this coming up?
Will be be getting a run-down of the upgrade you just did?
Thank you so very much!

Hi Lynda,
As always, you have great feedback! I'm almost positive that you are referring to the "Primary Reason for Visit" list on the Case Visit form, right? We have talked quite a bit about the possibility of making this "Primary Reason For Visit" list editable. The only thing holding us back is the fact that this list is directly linked to question #6 on the Option Ultrasound report, and we definitely want to provide you with the most accurate reporting for Focus on the Family. However, our team will revisit this again, and we thank you SO much for taking the time to give us your feedback!
Regarding your question about printing class lists....you can do this today in CenterPiece. I'm assuming you are referring to Group Classes, right? From the Class Roster page, you can print by exporting to Word, Excel, or a webpage. Just let me know if you need more instruction on how to do this.
In regards to the upgrade we just released (on Feb. 9th), we have already posted a complete listing of all the new features this included. To find this in CenterPiece, go to the "Help" tab (right next to the Administration tab). On the left side of the screen, click on the "Release Notes" link, and then click on "February 2008 Release." You will then see a list of all the details of this enahncement.
Thanks Lynda. You're great! :)
In Him,
Sarah |

Re: Counsel and Other Classes/Services Posted: 21 Feb 2008 02:10 PM |
First, thank you so very much for your program and hard work. My annual CareNet Report went very smoothly. It use to be a nighmare!
Now let me see if I can explain myself better on my "Counsel and other Classes/Service" forum request.
Re: "Primary Reason for Visit". Please do keep working on this. It would make my life (and I think other CPC's life so much easier). Hopefully, it can be just like what you do with STD Screening. You have separated STD Screening as a Primary Reason even though it shows up on the Focus #6 report as part of the total of "Other Services or Classes." Right?
The categories I would put under Counseling Service (Concepts Shared) would be:
Counseling--Adoption (no test given)
Counseling--Abstinence (no test given)
Counseling--Abortion (no test given, i.e., a man, a parent, etc.)
Counseling--Pregnancy Options (no test given, i.e., a man, a parent, etc.)
All of these would show up as one total number on the Focus #6 report, and I can do a separate breakdown to see what type of counseling was done and for whom. Right now, I can only get the names of clients when I click on Primary Reason/Concepts Shared/Counseling and then I have to go into each one to find out what we did.
The categories that go under "Other Services and Classes" from Focus #6 is our EWYL classes (Individual Education) , Childbirth Education group classes, PACE group classes, STD Screening, and a Bible Study. Again, just like the STD Screening shows up separately on the printout of "Primary Reason For Visit" can we do this as a combined total on the Focus #6 report.
I can use Group Classes to find the numbers for Childbirth, PACE and the Bible study group classes, but not for EWYL (Individual Education). Unless I'm missing somethin, it is way too cumbersome and time-consuming to enter each individual class a client takes in the Group Class and then put them in a Class Roster. Our EWYL clients come in once a month and meet one-on-one with a counselor.
This goes now to my request to be able to print off a Class List. We have about 60 different individual education classes we do in EWYL. This is a very powerful and well-attended program at our CPC. Again, we meet with one client once a month and do a class with them. An example of these classes are:
1.1 First Trimester
2.1 Second Trimester
3.1 Third Trimester
11.5 Car Seat Safety
9.6 Sex, Love & Relationships
What I need is to be able to do a report that shows how many clients took 1.1 First Trimester, etc. This report would show the class taken, client's name, date taken, and the counselor, etc. It would also be able to show me how many clients took 9.6 during February 2008 (or for the year).
This is long, but I hope it explains better what would help me out.
THANKS AGAIN AND AGAIN FOR WHAT YOU DO AND FOR BEING SO PATIENT!
LYNDA

Hi Lynda,
Thanks for giving us more details on your requests.
First, re: Primary Purpose for Visit....
What you described in your post, is almost exactly what our team has been brainstorming about recently. For example, if we allow this list to be edited by each center, we must then allow YOU to choose where each item in your list should be counted in question #6 on the Option Ultrasound report. This might work similar to the "Programs" for the Care Net report that you select for each of your "Concepts Shared" and "Class Names." Does that make sense? We have not made a definite decision to do this yet, but we're still brainstorming about the best way to handle this so that our customers get the functionality they want and need, but Focus on the Family still has accurate reporting as well. It's a balance, and we have to take both things into consideration. :)
Re: your class questions....
Are you tracking all of your "one-on-one" classes through the "Individual Education" form? If so, you can use the "Class Attendance Statistic" to track stats for both your group and individual classes, and the information in this stat is very similar to what you descirbed (especially if you "drill-down"). The only thing currently missing, is the ability to break out stats on each unique Class Name that you have set-up (like 1.1 First Trimester, 2.1 Second Trimester, etc). Right now you can only run these stats by the class "Program." However, we are planning to add the measure of "Class Name" in the near future. Would this give you what you need?
I'm so encouraged to hear that your Care Net report was easy to produce this year! That is music to our team's ears and what we're all about!! Our goal is to make your work easier to do. :)
In Him,
Sarah
