When an ultrasound is performed and the estimated due date is found, and the number of weeks pregnant, but the heartbeat was not detected. Client is only about 6 weeks 6 days, she will be coming in for a follow-up ultrasound. Would this be recorded as conclusive or inconclusive?

THANK YOU!!!

Ashleigh

Hi there Ashleigh!

Hmmm...this is a tough one. If she was found to be pregnant (due date established, gestation determined) I believe you would mark that as conclusive. But, I could be wrong, so you'll really want to talk with your center's nurse about this. I guess it would certainly depend on what it actually means if the heartbeat is not detected. Will it be possible to detect this at a later date once the fetus is more developed? Just some things to think over...sorry I can't give you a definite answer.

Great question! :o)

Sarah
