"program" feature
Posted: 11 Jan 2008 12:22 PM
I've been using CenterPiece long enough now to know the basics, but as I'm trying to find out specific statistics, I'm seeing that there is still more to learn! I know that at some point I saw a place to designate the "program" a client was associated with. At the time, I didn't know how I would use that, so I have been ignoring it. Now I have an idea for using it to help me sort clients served under our grant program, and I can't figure out where I saw it. Can you help? Or am I making this up?

Hi boots,

"Programs" are assigned in 2 different places: 1) The Concepts Shared Form, question #3 and 2) also the "Class Name" list that is shared by both the Individual Education Form and the Group Class form. To view/edit how your programs are currently set, you will need to click on the "edit list" link for these 2 lists. Once you are in the edit view, you will be able to edit the programs for each item in the list. These programs were specifically designed to meet the tracking requirements of the Care Net Annual report.

Hope this all makes sense. Please let us know if you need more help with this!

Sarah

Ok, I found what you were talking about, but I don't think it will work for me to do what I wanted.
What I'm looking for is a way to designate clients served under a specific grant, so that I can easily find statistics on just that group. Do you have any suggestions? Would "Category" help me do that? (I haven't really used that feature at this point either.) Or is there another way?

Hi Boots,

Using "category" (found at the bottom of the general tab) would probably be a great way to track this group of clients served through a specific grant. I don't know all the criteria for your grant tracking, but if you just need to track who the client is and that they were served through the grant, "category" would be good. However, if you need to track more detailed info like which services these clients received, or their pregnancy intentions, etc, you might want to track them in another place.

FYI...you can track "categories" using 2 reports: the "Client Files" report and the "Pregnancy Test Follow-up" report. Both will give you lists of clients in a specific category, and you can use these lists to get a count of how many clients are in each catgeory.

Hope this helps!

Sarah
