Two feature requests

Hi Brian,
I wondered if you would consider adding "bi-monthly" to the payment schedule under the Pledge Form. Several of our donors give that way.
Also, I was wondering if there was a way to break out funds received regarding tax purposes. For instance, we sometimes receive money in exchange for goods, ie: training materials (we charge only the actual cost) but have no way to indicate that this amount is not tax-deductible.
Currently, any monies entered appear as tax deductible and we must manually change receipts to reflect amounts that are not tax-deductible because of goods received. And since we receipt every month, we must manually change the batch receipts every month. Sometimes we forget and have to re-issue a receipt with the correction.

Hi Linda,
Regarding your request to add "bi-monthly" as a pledge payment schedule option, we will defintiely take a look at this, and see if this is something that we can add to a future enhancement.
Regarding your second question related to tax-deductible receipt amounts... there is currently a way for you to separately track the *total* donation amount and the "receipt" amount on the "Dontation Form." The field called "Amount" would be used to record the *total* amount received, and the "Receipt Amount" field would be used to record the correct tax-deductible amount that will be displayed on the donor's receipt (this is the $ amount shown on the "Batch Receipt Report."
For example, if someone paid you $150 for a banquet ticket, and $50 went toward their actual meal and the other $100 was a tax-deductible donation, then you would record "$150 in the "Amount" field and $100 in the "Receipt Amount" field. This is just a random example, but hopefully it will help clarify.

One more question: What report will tell us the total amount received (excluding receipted)? Just want to make sure that all numbers jive!

Hi Linda,
You're very welcome. :o)
The "Donations Report" will give you both $$ amounts. When you run this report you'll see that there is an "Amount" column (this is the TOTAL amount) and also a "Receipt Amount" Column, so you can keep track of both separately.

We would also like to see a "bi-monthly" option in the pledge payment schedule options. Is this going to happen soon? We have a number of donors who have pledged to donate every two months so this would be very helpful.

Thanks so much for letting us know that you too would benefit from having a "bi-monthly option for pledge payment schedules. We currently have a major enhancement that is taking priority (QuickBooks Integration), so I'm not able to pinpoint when exactly we will be able to implement a request like this.
Also, it just occurred to me that "bi-monthly" can mean 2 different things. At times it can mean that a person gives two times in the same month, yet it can also mean a person gives every other month. Does that make sense? I think you are specifically referring to donors that give every other month, right?

I think Sharon and I are referring to the same need: people who give every other month. It would be helpful to have that designation sometime in the future.
