We have multiple donors who, when sponsoring a walker, simply check the "bill me" box and leave the amount blank. We usually issue a pledge statement for an amount "unspecified". We find that these donors usually give more this way and would like a way to enter a pledge for an uspecified amount. Can you tell me how to do this? |

Hi Mitch,
I totally understand what you are saying. This very same situation happened at my center with our Walk. As you've probably already seen, the Pledge Form does require a dollar amount to be entered, which is by design. However, you CAN track who these "unspecified pledgers" are. I recommend setting up a category (found at the bottom of the General tab in the donor's file), which you could call something like "Unspecified $ Amount Sponsor--Walk 2007." Once you assign the proper people into this category, you can then run the "Donor Files Report" and filter it by category. This will give you the ability to get a nice list, mailing labels, and also create customized letters for these individuals that can act as a "bill" if you would like.
