ENTERING SONOGRAM RESULTS Posted: 13 Aug 2007 03:03 PM |
Our centers do not provide our clients with 'how many weeks was client at time of sonogram'. We do provide them with a preliminary EDC.
However, when we enter this information in E-kyros, we cannot proceed with a 'conclusive' sonogram and not enter 'number of weeks'; the system tell us that weeks must be > 0 if sonogram is 'conclusive'. Is there a way that this can be overridden? Just entering a number so that we can move on is not accurate and we do not know how this affects statistics.
Thank you for your help with this matter.

Hi sharond,
Several years ago when designing this form, the feedback we received at that time was to make this "weeks pregnant" field a required one. Even though you do not give this information to the client, is this something that is tracked by your sonographer? Based on feedback we have received from other centers, we have learned that this data is very important to track. Would you mind giving us some information on why you've chosen not to track this so we can best understand your needs? Thanks so much for your feedback!!

Thanks for your reply. The chief reason we do not put the EDC on the actual written form is because until the physician signs off on the ultrasound charts, it is not a confirmation of weeks gestation and could be perceived as if the sonographer made that determination on her own. Not providing this information is a NIFLA recommendation regarding legal forms.
Again, we can enter '1' for the weeks gestation, but I do not know if and how this would affect statistics. |

That is great information for us to know, Sharon. Thank you!
By not entering the "Weeks Pregnant" accurately on the sonogram form, this is basically going to affect 2 different Sonogram Statistics Measures that you can use: the "Gestation" measure and the "Trimester" measure. You'll be able to run these 2 different measures, but the data will not be accurate. That is the only way your statistics will be affected. Hope that helps clarify. :)
Happy Friday!
