Report Graphs
Posted: 22 Jun 2007 02:29 PM
When I export reports from ekyros with the graphs on the report the pictures are only visible until I save them. Once I save the exported client management report you can no longer view the graphs when you open the Microsoft Office document.
Am I doing something wrong? How can I save the Microsoft office version of the report and not lose the graphs?

Hi Andrea,

Are you exporting to Microsoft Word? And, when prompted to either "Open" or "Save" what do you select? Try selecting "Open" first (to open the doc in MS Word). If you continue to have problems with this after you try this please let us know. You can give us a call at 972-851-1085.

Thanks!

Hi Andrea,

We took a closer look at this, and have some steps that you can try to fix this issue....

To ensure the charts are never lost, you need to save the charts in Word not as links, but as images. Here’s how:

Word 2003

1. Run the report and open it in Word

2. Go to Edit/Links

3. The Links dialog opens

4. Hold the mouse key down and select each link/chart in the list

5. Click the break link button (be sure all links are removed from the list after clicking the button)

6. Click OK

To confirm the charts are saved within word:

1. Go to Edit/Links again

2. Notice the Link menu option is grayed out.

Hope this will help you. Have a great weekend! :o)

Sarah,
I sincerely appreciate your figuring out how I can keep the graphs. However, we have microsoft office 2007 and I can't seem to figure out the corresponsding link in 07 microsoft version that is in 2003 microsoft version.

Namely the edit button does not appear in 07 version as it does in the 03 version. Any ideas you have would be helpful. I believe your suggesstion would fix the problem, at times I'm just a bit technologically challenged....

Thank once again for the help!

No problem at all! Here's what to do in Word 2007:

1. go to the office button (the big button in the top left corner of word)

2. click on prepare

3. scroll to the bottom of the window and click “Edit links to Files”

4. select all files in the list

5. click break links

Hope this will help you. :o)

In Him,

Sarah Miller
