I would like to change the id name for one of my user accounts. how can I do that?

Hi Andrea,
You must delete the account and add a new one. Follow the steps below:
1) log-in to CenterPiece with a user account other than the one you want to change. Be sure the account you use is a member of the "Director" role, otherwise you won't be able to complete the next step.
2) In CenterPiece, go to Adminitration/User Accounts (requires director role for access)
3) Delete the old account you want to change. (don't worry, this won't remove the staff/vol file associated to the account)
4) Now create a new account by clicking the "Add new account" button above the list.
5) In the User Account form, select a staff/volunteer file and enter the new user ID you wish to use.
6) complete the rest of the fields and be sure to assign a role.
7) Save the account.

I am trying to add a user acct- but when I assign it to an existing staff member it wont allow it- saying that the staff ID is already in use, but that staff file is not assigned to a user acct.
What am I doing wrong, it doesn't seem to matter which existing staff file I try?

you can only have 1 staff file assinged to a user account. you will need to delete the original account first. then add the new account and assign the original staff file. hope that helps! |
