Care Net Report question 9, 10 & 13 Posted: 22 Nov 2006 04:13 PM |
In my understanding question # 9 & 10 on the Care Net report refer to clients that are abortion vulnerable or abortion minded and receive options counseling. Question # 13 (number of clients who participated in parenting classes) is not related to options counseling. It seems to me that the stats for these questions are pulled from the same places and are therefore inaccurate. Example: a client who attends our group parenting class is showing up as a statistic under question #9 (indicating that she has received options counseling). This is making the statistics unreliable.
Am I understanding this correctly? |

Re: Care Net Report question 9, 10 & 13 Posted: 30 Nov 2006 09:49 AM |
Hi NancyG,
We just had a meeting to discuss how questions 9 - 21 are reported. Development explained that current implementation is based on the following definition given by Care Net in regard to questions 9 - 21:
"Answer these questions for all new cases (See line 1 above for definition for new client case). Report the clients who received the various services that are administered only by your center. The formats for each program listed may vary from center to center, e.g. one center may offer one day of childbirth education as part of an “Earn While You Learn” program, where others may offer an entire childbirth program. Whatever the extent of the program, if the client received any training or support in each particular area at your center, please indicate that in the boxes provided."
Notice that the definition says: "if the client received any training or support in each particular area at your center, please indicate that in the boxes provided". Since a concept shared can constitute "support" we include all three program sources (concepts shared, individual education and group education) in the numbers for questions 9 - 21.
We are going to contact Care Net to confirm the current implementation, but I wanted to let you know where we are in the process. I will get back to you once we have a direction from Care Net.
Thanks again for your post!

Hello again,
We were able to confirm with Care Net that the current calculation is correct. They (Care Net) do not want us to break out the numbers by classes / concepts shared, they just want all the numbers reported together.
Please let me know if you have any other questions!!
Thanks and have a great day!

Re: Care Net Report question 9, 10 & 13 Posted: 07 Dec 2006 02:23 PM |
I spoke to Kristin at Care Net. She said the stat form for next year has some changes on it and the current question #9 will read: Number of clients that received pregnancy options counseling. The current question #13 will read: Number of clients who participated in parenting education.
She also said you folks already know this and so I should see changes in the report. Are there any changes we should make in how or where options counseling vs parenting classes are entered?
Thanks for pursuing this for me.
Nancy

Re: Care Net Report question 9, 10 & 13 Posted: 08 Dec 2006 03:15 PM |
Hi Nancy,
Development is working right now on the changes for the 2007 report. They will post an announcement once the changes have been made. In addition, there is a Care Net Report user guide that is being made available for this year's report. The user guide will be posted to CenterPiece once the report is updated to reflect the 2007 changes.
As far as question #9 and #13, there are changes that will be made in CenterPiece.
eKYROS will convert all current program names of "Options/parenting" to "Pregnancy Options". And a new program name "Parenting" will be added. What this means for you is that all your current "Options/Parenting" concepts and classes will be changed to say “Pregnancy Options” and will be totaled into the Pregnancy Options number (question #9 on the 2007 report). If you wish to break out some of your current concepts and classes into the new “Parenting” category, you can do that to. It is very easy and all you have to do is edit the program names from the Office Forms section in Client Management. You will just need to update your current concepts and classes that you want to go to the new group and re-assign them to the "Parenting" program. (The Care Net User Guide walks through this process in detail.)
Thanks so much for your help as well!
Take care and let me know if this makes sense!

Hi Nancy,
I also wanted to mention that there was a numbering change in the 2007 report. Once the changes are posted to CenterPiece you will notice that the current question #9 will #7 and the current question #13 will be #8.
Thanks!
