OU Report Question #23 Posted: 08 Nov 2006 01:21 PM |
The User Guide says this question is the sum of all sections in question #22. I'm having trouble figuring out how that would provide the number of clients whose intentions are to parent or create and adoption plan or who are undecided.
Please help clarify! Thanks! |

Hi Glenda,
Question #23 in the user guide should say that the TOTAL is the total of 22. Sorry about that!
Basically, here is what is going on: question #22 is asking for all clients who decided (AFTER counseling) to carry their child to term. It then breaks that info into (22a, b, c, and d) based on clients intentions BEFORE and based on whether the client had an ultrasound or not.
Question #23 takes the TOTAL from question #22 (total of clients whose intentions AFTER counseling are "carry to term") and further breaks the question into their carry-to-term specifics (i.e. parent, adoption, and undecided).
Sorry for the confusion. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the correction on the word "sum", Carlye!
I think I'm still missing something though. How can the numbers from question #22 contribute to the breakdown of parenting, adoption and undecided? The numbers relate strictly to clients that month with intentions to CTT - no adoption or parenting in the question.
Thanks!

Hi Glenda,
I see where you are confused!
Okay, when you look at the case form, the pregnancy test form and the ultrasound form, you can select the following for pregnancy intentions:
- Unknown
- Abortion Minded
- Abortion Vulnerable / Undecided
- Carry to Term (Adoption)
- Carry to Term (Parent)
- Carry to Term (Undecided)
- Not Applicable (this is on the case form only)
Question #22 takes all the Carry to Term intentions (adoption, undecided and parent) and sums them together. Question #23 then asks for us to break them out by (adoption, undecided and parent). Does that help to clarify?
Thanks Glenda!!!
