Birthdate

Is there anyway when filling in info for client under their birthdate that we can put just an age not a full birthdate. We get calls for clients we mail info to who tell us their age that we need to keep stats on but we don't know their birthdates.

Hi shersey,

I understand what you are saying. However, the reason that we track the birthdate is not only for age, but also for the purpose of having another identifier for the client. So, if 2 clients have the same name, the birthdate is a realiable id for telling them apart (as sometimes address, phone, etc. will change over time).

An idea you might try is to put in a "generic" birthdate when you only have an age and not the full b-day. For example, if a client says she is 20, you could put in a b-day of 1-1-86. This way the age is still tracked statistically. You could use the same Jan. 1st b-day for all the clients that you do not have actual birthdates for.

Hope this helps some. :o)

Sarah
