If a client comes in abortion minded, leaves abortion minded and then a year later, comes in reporting a changed mind, Where all do we record that information? Pregnancy test outcome, case form?, and pregnancy test or sonogram? Where will the changed mind statistic come from? If I find out today that a client changed her mind 9 months ago- the statistics have already been run, and recorded. Will that information be reflected in the statistics from this month, since that is when it was recorded, or will that piece of information be lost?

Thanks--

Hi,

We allow you to track changed minds stats through the pregnancy test form, sono form, and also the Case form (pregnancy intentions at last contact). The Case Form pregnancy status would probably be the best place to update in a scenario like you described, although you could update it in the other places if you choose to. Basically, you will need to decide how you want to track this info. When running stats, we have given you a Pregnancy test stat, sono stat, and case stat, all with several measures so you can run the stat you need.

These numbers will track statistically according to the date on the form. So, they will track in the month that the case/activity was originally entered. For example, an abort. minded client had a pregnancy test 9 months ago, and you find out today that she decided to carry, and you decide to update her pregnancy intentions on the Pregnancy Test Form. This change will show up statistically in the month that she had her pregnancy test, because the date on the Pregnancy Test Form is from 9 months ago.

Just let me know if you need additional help with this. I know this can be confusing sometimes.

Thanks,
Sarah

The problem that I see if I record it at the case level is that I can't run a stat for that that shows if it is a changed mind, it only shows the final outcome. There doesn't seem to be a place for us to enter the data and get what we need, seeing that it is very often that we find out about changed minds weeks, or months later. I am concerned that our changed minds aren't showing up. Is there something that I am not seeing?

You actually can use the case pregnancy status to look at changed minds in our statistics. To do this you would run the "Pregnancy Test Stat" and use the 2 measures "Pregnancy Intention Before Support" and "Case Pregnancy Status." You could also do this with the Sonogram stat, using the same measures.

Does this help?

This brings up another question. If the client comes in abortion minded, leaves abortion minded, then 6 months later comes in and had the baby. I change it in the pregnancy test form, and update the case level. how will i know when she made the decision if I go into her file later? Will that be dependent on my notes? It will look like she made the decision leaving the office, but that may not have been what happened. Does it matter?
