deleting existing class that will no longer be offered
Posted: 13 Mar 2006 02:28 PM
I am trying to update our Staff office use Form and wanted to delete a class that was offerred, but will no longer be offerring it. The class never had an attendance so client files will not be affected by deleting the class.
We I try to update the Class it references the class being listed on another form?
Thanks for your time
cris

Hi Cris,

Can you give me a bit more information, so I'll know exactly what's happening?

Are you in the "Group Classes" module, then you open up an existing class, and from there click on the delete button? Would it be possible for you to copy & paste the error message in your reply message so I can see it? The more specific info I have, the better I can identify what problem you are having.

Thanks!

Sarah

Hello Sarah,
I was on the "Office Forms", trying to update the "Staff Office Use Only Form"
under the Concepts Shared area.
The Class was deleted but on the "Concepts Shared" when I try to delete it, I get a message in red that reads: This item being referenced by another form.
I hope that helps
Thanks
Cris

Ok, I think I understand now. So, you went into group classes and deleted the actual class, right? But, you also had added the class name to your list of concepts shared? Just so you know, classes and concepts shared are 2 totally separate lists in the system, so if you delete a class, but also have it listed as a concepts shared, it will remain in the concepts shared list.

The reason that you are unable to delete this specific concept shared item is most likely because it is being referenced on at least 1 concepts shared form found in a client's file. The reason we don't allow you to delete this item is because it would remove this data from the client file and you would lose this recorded information. Hopefully this makes sense. :)

If you don't mind sharing, I'm curious why you added the class name to the "concepts shared" form?
