appointment book

we are trying to show regular appointment time as unavailable for a reason other than a client appointment. In this case, there will be no counselor available for a few hours on the 25th. How do we do this?

today, the best way to handle this is to set your counselor up as a "resource" in the appointment book. to do this, click the "setup resources" link on the right side of the page in the appointment book. the appointment resource list dialog opens. add the counselor's name to the list. then, click the "default schedule" link to the right of the counselor's name. this will allow you to define a "standard schedule" that repeats on a weekly basis specifying the hours your counselor works each week. for ech day in the dialog, click on a block to define a range of hours your counselor will be available. once you define the schedule, click the "resource free/busy" tab in the appointment book. you should see your counselor in the list and the available hours for each day. the schedule will also be displayed in the appointment form under the "resources" tab.

On days were your counselor's schedule differs from his/her standard schedule you should *not* edit the standard schedule. In this case, click the "edit daily schedule" link on the right side of the appointment book. define a new schedule for the counselor on the specific day. daily schedules override the standard schedule. when you view the counselor's schedule under the free/busy tab, you will now see the new daily schedule override for the day you defined. all others days will show the standard daily schedule.

i hope that makes sense. if not, call 972-851-1085 as for support, and someone can walk you through this.

i hope that helps!
