Khristey first became involved at her local PRC in 1993 after reading about the ministry in her church bulletin and decided to train as a volunteer. Within the year she accepted a position as the Center Coordinator and a year later she answered the call to serve as the Executive Director. During her role as an ED, Khristey expanded the educational program, updated client materials, created an Earn as You Learn program and implemented ultrasound through the support of Focus on the Family that allowed the PRC to function as a limited medical facility. Within the year, the center outgrew the shopping strip it was located in and Khristey worked to move the organization into a new building that would allow greater outreach to the community. Today, the site serves as the PRC for Pasadena, TX.
Khristey has been actively involved in post-abortion healing outreach for over 13 years and has served in leadership for abortion recovery groups, training and conferences. In 2012, she hosted a 3-day training conference in Houston, TX at Grace Church NW, with over 200 PRC staff and volunteers attending.
Khristey was involved for many years serving as a board member with a coalition of life affirming organizations in Houston TX called “CAPA”-Coalition Affirming Pregnancy Awareness. The group consisted of over 20 agencies and partnered together in large scale city wide events to achieve greater outreach and awareness of life affirming options in Houston.
After 17 years of service, Khristey left her role as Executive Director to pursue her passion to serve as a consultant and supporter to life affirming ministries. She has a great passion for adoption and is active in her support of birthmothers and their families. In 2011, Khristey was the recipient of the Jeremiah Award presented to her by Care Net during their national conference in Orlando, Florida.
